Venus Shipwreck When Wrecked: 21 November 1855
Location: Southern
Brig. While sailing from Manilla to Melbourne with a cargo of sugar, she found it necessary to call at Brisbane for supplies. Deciding to enter along Freeman's channel instead of the deeper north channel ,she ran aground and became a total wreck. The crew reached safety without further incident.
