Grace Darling Shipwreck When Wrecked: 14 March 1894

Schooner 69 tons x 75 feet long. The Grace Darling was anchored off Bulwer for three days in heavy south-east weather. She was carrying a full cargo of coal and dynamite bound for Normanton from Brisbane. On the 4th day (14th of March), she parted from her anchors and became stranded on the beach almost stern first. The Captain and crew, after much difficulty, landed safely. The vessel was a total wreck.
